How To Prep For Your CoolSculpting Treatment

CoolSculpting (fat freezing) is a non-invasive procedure that gets rid of stubborn fat on different parts of the body. Compared to surgical or other more invasive procedures, you do not really have much do to in terms of prepping for your fat freezing treatment.

However, to have a great fat freeze session and the best results possible, there are a number of things you should know. These things will ensure you have a more comfortable and relaxed experience.

Are You a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is highly recommended for people that live a healthy life. This means you should maintain a healthy diet and lead an active lifestyle. We are stressing the point of living healthy because the procedure is not a weight loss solution. Rather, it is a non-surgical alternative to liposuction.

After a fat freezing session, you will lose from 20 to 25 percent of fat in the treated areas. Therefore, the procedure is excellent if you are looking to shake off the fat on your thighs, hips, or stomach.

Before the CoolSculpting Treatment

You definitely want to see results as soon as possible. Therefore, it makes sense to prepare well for the treatment. Here are some things you can do to improve your results:

  • - Don’t take any supplements or medications that can thin the blood. Examples of such supplements include St. John’s Wort, fish oil, and aspirin. Ideally, you should avoid the supplements at least one week before your session.
  • - Do not damage the skin of the target area. CoolSculpting involves massaging and suctioning the area treated. Therefore, you want the skin not to be cut or bruised before the treatment.
  • - Tanning is a big no before a CoolSculpting procedure as it can leave your skin more sensitive to treatment.

On Your CoolSculpting Session Day

Fat freezing treatment usually varies, depending on what patients wish to achieve. For most people, the treatment lasts for a few hours.

At the clinic, the applicator will be applied to your body and attached for about an hour. During this time, the applicator cannot be removed. Therefore, you’ll want to make sure you are comfortable before it is applied. For example, you should wear loose-fitting clothes that will make it easy to access the areas where you’ll be treated.

Here are some other things to keep in mind on your treatment day:

  • - Bring some clothes to change, just in case.
  • - Eat a light meal before the session as you may be in the clinic for a couple of hours.
  • - At the clinic, you are most likely to be photographed to get the before and after photos of your body. The photos will help you see how you are progressing over time.

Another thing you may want to do is find something to kill time during the procedure. For example, you can watch a television series, get a good book to read, or catch up on your emails.

Depending on your schedule, you may not be able to undergo the treatment for multiple hours. If this is the case, you can schedule it over days or weeks. However, it would be advisable to schedule the treatment sessions as close together as possible so that you can see results quickly.
